Where Can I Get My Flex 3000 Repaired

1. Hello All,
   My Flex-3000 is intermittent. Sometimes (say 1 in12) information technology will power upwards and work normally. I've found the relays at Mouser for a little over $four.00 each and ordered enough to "shotgun". I besides institute a linear voltage reg that is running warm. It'due south a surface mount SOT-89-3 package the but markings on it is "74". Input Voltage is iv.75V and the output is 2.6V. Don't know if that is normal or not. I can't find any schematic for the Flex radios. I've gone as far every bit I can go with problem shooting with out a schematic. I've left a message with Flex service a couple of days ago and have not heard back from them yet. Can anyone aid?

2. OK, then no schematic to be had. Thanks Flex. I got lucky and managed to 'set' the radio anyway. I opened information technology up and cleaned with alcohol. Found a little corrosion on a pair of IC pins. Needed a 10x loop to see it. Wiped my estimator of all Flex and powerSDR software. Installed the latest and greatest from the Flex radio site. This included new PowerSDR v2.6.four, new firewire driver, and new firmware for the Flex-3000 radio. Now everything works equally it should.

3. Congrats on the repair, and shame on Flex for not providing schematics.

   That's ridiculous, as is the poor response (evidently, none) y'all got from them.

4. I don't think I'll be owning a flex, not even i used in the future for that reason.

5. Despite its faults, I really like my Flex radio. I constitute running my backup rig (FT-100D), to be a painful feel. The SSB performance was OK only, the AM transmit was awful. Sound was muffled and unintelligible. One time y'all go used to the pan adapter, it'southward hard to go back. I think SDR is the moving ridge of the futurity. Too bad Flex is about the only game in town. Flex has been real slow to launch its new 6000 series. I've heard they are going to drop the 5000 series. Yikes, they are making an opening for a new start-upwardly to come up in and fill up the void. At that place is an Indian visitor chosen Apache, that is shipping 100 Watt SDR radios. I have not read or heard anything about them withal.
